Beautiful interiors, delicious food, impeccable service and lip smacking cocktails sum up my experience at Ming Yang. With authentic Oriental food being its forte, this old classic still retains its charm.
Thecrazyindianfoodie completed 2 wonderful years this month and we celebrated it over dinner at Ming Yang along with an amazing spa therapy at Jiva spa. Read more about that in the lifestyle tab soon.
With subtle yet classy interiors, a meal at Ming Yang is more of an experience which you must have atleast once in your lifetime.
What to eat?
Triangular dim sums, mushroom dumplings, spinach and cheese dumplings – Delicate, perfectly cooked and full of flavours that burst into your palette with each bite. The smoked cheese in the spinach dumplings takes it to a new level of deliciousness.
Crisp fried Sichuan chilli potato – An old time favourite, crisp golden brown potatoes tossed in a sweet and spicy schezwan sauce makes for the perfect appetizer.
Steamed tofu, green beans, asparagus and mushrooms tossed in a beautiful black bean sauce – Pair this up with some burnt garlic fried rice for a hearty meal full of flavour.
Wok fried noodles with exotic vegetables in a soy chilli garlic sauce – A novelty, pan fried noodles that are crisp to the bite topped with a delightful array of oriental veggies and a spicy sauce make for a meal in itself. This one is highly recommended.
Whats a meal without some dessert? Satiate your tastebuds with their origin chocolate mousse with crunchy caramel popcorn and sweet cherries. The mousse melts in your mouth with each bite, transporting you to dessert heaven.
What to drink?
Ming Yang undoubtedly serves some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. With craftfully measured portions, well balanced concoctions and eye catching presentation their cocktails are not to be missed.
What you must try here is their signature cocktail called ‘Since 1806’.
A sensuous concoction of smooth bourbon, demarara sugar and orange peel that’s smoked with pure Cuban cigar smoke will tantalise your senses. First your glass is flavoured with this innovative smoke and then the concoction is slowly poured over it. This drink is not for the faint hearted but it’s something which you must try here at Ming Yang. It’s an absolute stunner.
Verdict –
Overall with its elegant ambiance, delicious food and even better cocktails, Ming Yang is a must visit.
