A place that oozes charm and a fun filled atmosphere, Junkyard Cafe with its unique, rustic interiors is a nice place to grab a couple of drinks over light food with friends.

A spacious bar whose walls are adorned with old tyres, rusted scooters, low yellow lights with peppy music in the background is quite attractive in its appearance.

Their menu is quite wide so there’s something for everyone. They also have a good amount of vegetarian options. The food is average and needs to be improved on considerably but they have done brilliantly with their cocktails.

We started off with their Wasabi peas aloo tikki. Green peas lightly coated with cornstarch and wasabi mixed with mashed potatoes shallow fried and served with wasabi mayo wasn’t a very impressive dish. The tikkis were quite dry and needed more flavour.

The Junkyard style sesame paneer tikka will please the mustard lover in you. Pungent, soft and full of flavour this is a must try if you like mustard.

Next up were the smoked cheese balls.

Gouda, emmantal and cheddar cheese mixed with flour and milk deep fried to a golden brown and served with fresh mayo were quite average. There was no ‘smoked’ flavour to it at all.

One of the best Nachos in we’ve ever had are served here. The Nachos overload is one hell of a dish. Fresh crisp corn tortillas topped with loads and loads of grated cheddar cheese, jelepenos and fresh tomato salsa sauce is the perfect snack to complement their lovely cocktails.

Their Indian food is quite appealing. We highly recommend the Tandoori mushrooms. Button mushrooms marinated in a spicy tandoori hung curd masala that’s slightly burnt over a tandoor will tantalise your tastebuds.

The best dish of the day was their Penne with vodka rose sauce. Innovative and delicious this vodka pasta is a must try!

Well cooked penne tossed in a creamy and tangy pink sauce that’s flambéed with potent vodka tastes absolutely stunning.

Drinks –

Maple wood salvage fluid – A beautiful concoction of white rum, brandy, vanilla and maple syrup served innovatively with smoked wood has the perfect balance of flavours. Not overly sweet but just right.
English Central Monitor – Combining the evergreen combination of orange, cinnamon and gin this breathtaking cocktail is a must try.
Edison Bulbs –

Again another must have when you’re at Junkyard, choose your poison and do try their delightfully potent cocktails served in an Edison bulb.

We loved the Watermelon and Vodka bulb which had a touch of fresh basil to it.

We had a decent experience overall.
